September 25, 1923 Dr. L. H. Pammel Department of Botany and Plant Pathology Iowa State Agricultural and Mechanical College Ames, Iowa My dear Dr. Pammel: I am so delighted to get your good letter of recent date. I am enclosing clipping from the Kansas City paper. It does not give a very full account, however. I think that a little later, I will be able to send you a much fuller account as I understand that one or two magazines are writing it up rather fully. I am glad to know that you had such a nice letter from Mr. Edward Sherman. Mr. Sutton of whom you spoke, attended the Summer course there this year. He is the person to whom I gave a special letter of introduction to you. He is a colored student, of course. I was anxious to have him meet you. He is teaching at Jarvis Christian Institute, Hawkins, Texas. If you happen to have a copy of the Ames Tribune, I should like very much to have you send it to me. Some one else wrote me about it. Give my kindest regards to Mrs. Pammel. Yours most sincerely, G. W. Carver Research and Experiment Station GWC:K
