Aug. 6, 1907 Dr. L. H. Pammel, Ames, Ia. My dear Dr. Pammel: I write to inquire to whom I can refer doubtful specimens of fungi for determination. I have a number of Phyllostictas, Gloesporiums, Cercosporas, Pyrenomycetes, etc., that I don't find described. Since the death of Prof. Ellis I have been very much at sea. Dr. Bartholomew of Stockton, Kas. had a few of them referred to him but for some reason has not determined them and from whom I get no reply. I shall be very grateful for any suggestion you may have to offer. Trusting you and Mrs. Pammel and the children are quite well and tendering them my best regards, I am, Sincerely yours, Geo. W. Carver Director. I should like to visit you while in your bungalow. I feel sure that you will enjoy the experience
