July 23--28 My beloved teacher, Dr. Pammel: I just want to extend to you greetings and to say that I am thrilled as I read the two choice booklets you so kindly sent me. I remember Dr. Bessey quite well, he came to the school while I was a student. Through you I had the privilege of shaking hands with him. I do not recall ever meeting Professor Beach. In writing about these men, your pen seems gifted, your own personality runs through the whole story in a way that is the most delightful and refreshing that has ever come before me. Yours with great love and admiration, I am so gratefully yours, Your pupil, G. W. Carver P.S. I have told Mr. Romm to have your letter published I mean put in pamphlet form, on good paper.
