Dec. 30, 1902 Dr. L. H. Pammel, Ames, Iowa. My Dear Doctor Pammel: I have your favor of December 23d and note that the package of specimens has reached you. I shall be very glad to send you more as soon as the season for collecting opens. I presume that you have seen my list of new fungi which was published in the Journal of Mycology by Drs. Everhardt and Ellis. I do not have time to do as much collecting now as I used to do yet I am adding from time to time to my list which is now quite large. I have just begun working up my Iowa specimens. I find that the moths have injured some of them yet there are many that have kept remarkably well. I might say that I leave Wednesday morning for Washington where I will attend the National Association for Advancement of Science. I wish very much that I might see you there. Wishing you the choicest compliments of the new year, I beg to remain, Yours sincerely, G.W. Carver
